Description

FeCrAl Round Wire

The Crazy Wire Company are best known and long established as Europe’s preferred suppliers of top quality FeCrAl round wire. We have enormous stock levels at all times as we use this wire to weave our mesh products.

0.65mm FeCrAl resistance wire is a type of heating wire made of an iron-chromium-aluminum alloy. The wire has a diameter of 0.65mm, which is commonly used in applications that require a moderate to high heating load. FeCrAl resistance wire is known for its high electrical resistance, high-temperature resistance, and good oxidation resistance, which make it suitable for use in heating elements, resistors, and other high-temperature applications. The wire is also easy to work with and can be easily shaped and bent into different configurations.

FeCrAl resistance wire is commonly used in various heating applications, including electric ovens, toasters, water heaters, and industrial furnaces, as well as in the manufacturing of heating coils and resistors.

FAQs About This Wire

Can KA1 Wire Be Used In Industrial Heater?

Yes, KA1 wire can be used in industrial heaters. KA1 is a brand name for a type of heating wire made from an iron-chromium-Aluminium (FeCrAl) alloy. FeCrAl alloys are known for their high-temperature resistance, excellent oxidation resistance, and good electrical resistivity, which make them well-suited for use in high-temperature heating applications.

KA1 wire can be formed into coils or other shapes to create heating elements for a wide range of industrial heating applications, such as in furnaces, kilns, ovens, and heat treatment processes. KA1 wire is also durable and can withstand repeated heating and cooling cycles, making it a popular choice for industrial heating applications where reliability and long service life are critical.

Which Wire Works Best For Industrial Heater?

The selection of wire for industrial heating applications depends on various factors such as the operating temperature, required heat output, heating time, and environment. The most commonly used wires for industrial heaters are nickel-chromium (NiCr) alloys, iron-chromium-Aluminium (FeCrAl) alloys, and copper-nickel (CuNi) alloys.

NiCr wire is ideal for applications requiring a high-temperature operation and long life. FeCrAl wire is preferred for its excellent oxidation resistance and electrical properties. It is used where a higher operating temperature is required. CuNi wire is the ideal choice for applications where the wire must withstand severe corrosive environments.

How To Know If My Heating Element Is Bad?

There are several signs that can indicate that a heating element is bad or failing. Here are a few common symptoms to look for:

  1. No heat: The most obvious sign that a heating element is bad is if it is not generating any heat at all. If you turn on your appliance and it fails to heat up, there may be an issue with the heating element.
  2. Uneven heating: If your appliance is heating unevenly or is producing hot spots, this could indicate that the heating element is failing or has become damaged.
  3. Burnt or damaged appearance: If the heating element looks visibly damaged or burnt, it is likely that it needs to be replaced.
  4. Strange noises: If you hear unusual noises coming from your appliance, this may indicate that the heating element is struggling to function properly.
  5. High resistance: If you have a multimeter, you can test the resistance of the heating element. A heating element that has a high resistance reading may be faulty.

Which Element Is Used In An Electric Heater?

The most common heating element used in an electric heater is a metal wire that is made of an alloy such as Nichrome, KA1, or other similar materials. These alloys have high electrical resistance, which causes them to generate heat when an electric current passes through them.

The heating element is usually coiled around a ceramic or mica core, and is enclosed in a metal sheath or tube. When an electric current is passed through the heating element, it generates heat which is transferred to the surrounding air, thereby warming the room or space.
