Is A Higher Or Lower Resistance Wire Able To Heat Up More?

For a given amount of electrical power, a higher resistance wire will heat up more than a lower resistance wire. This is because the heat generated by a wire is proportional to the square of the current flowing through it, which in turn is proportional to the voltage applied to the wire divided by its resistance (Ohm’s law).
