KA1 Round Wire

The Crazy Wire Company are best known and long established as Europe’s preferred suppliers of top quality KA1 round wire. We have enormous stock levels at all times as we use this wire to weave our mesh products.

0.8mm FeCrAl A1 wire is a type of heating wire made of an iron-chromium-aluminum alloy. The wire has a diameter of 0.8mm, which is relatively thick and is commonly used in applications that require a high heating load or in building larger heating coils. FeCrAl A1 wire is known for its high electrical resistance, high-temperature resistance, and good oxidation resistance, which make it suitable for use in heating elements, resistors, and other high-temperature applications. The wire is also easy to work with and can be easily shaped and bent into different configurations. FeCrAl A1 wire is commonly used in various heating applications, including electric ovens, toasters, water heaters, and industrial furnaces.

FAQs About This Wire

Can KA1 Wire Be Used In Convection Heater?

Yes, KA1 wire can be used in convection heaters. Convection heaters are often used in heating applications where natural convection currents are used to circulate air, and they require a heating element that can provide sufficient heat output at the desired operating temperature. KA1 wire is a type of high-temperature resistant wire that is commonly used in heating applications, including convection heaters. KA1 wire is often used in convection heaters because it has high-temperature resistance, good mechanical strength, and excellent corrosion resistance. However, the specific design and material requirements for a convection heater will depend on the specific application, so it’s important to consult the manufacturer’s guidelines and specifications to ensure the appropriate materials are used.

Which Wire Works Best For Convection Heater?

The choice of wire for a convection heater will depend on various factors such as the operating temperature, the power requirements of the heater, and the specific application. However, KA1 wire is a popular choice for convection heaters because it has high-temperature resistance, good mechanical strength, and excellent corrosion resistance. Other materials that can be used for convection heater elements include nickel-chromium (NiCr) and iron-chromium-Aluminium (FeCrAl) alloys, which also have high-temperature resistance and good mechanical strength. The specific choice of wire and element design will depend on the specific application requirements, and it is important to consult the manufacturer’s guidelines and specifications to ensure that the appropriate materials and element design are used for the specific application.

Which Metal Makes The Best Cutting Wire?

The choice of metal for a cutting wire depends on the application, but some commonly used metals for cutting wire include piano wire, stainless steel wire, tungsten wire, and high-carbon steel wire. Each of these metals has different properties that make them suitable for different types of cutting, such as precision cutting or cutting through tough materials like foam or metal. The choice of the best cutting wire also depends on factors such as the diameter of the wire, the length required, and the tension needed for the specific cutting operation.

Why Won’t My Solder Stick To KA1 Wire?

KA1 wire is made of a high-temperature resistance alloy that is specifically designed to resist oxidation and other forms of corrosion at high temperatures. This resistance to oxidation and other contaminants can make it difficult for solder to adhere to the surface of the wire, especially if the wire is not properly cleaned and prepared.

If you are having trouble getting solder to stick to KA1 wire, there are several possible reasons, including:

1. Contamination: KA1 wire should be thoroughly cleaned and degreased before attempting to solder it, as any residual oil, dirt, or other contaminants can prevent the solder from adhering properly. Try cleaning the wire with a solvent such as alcohol or acetone before attempting to solder.
2. Oxidation: KA1 wire is resistant to oxidation, which means that it can be difficult to remove any oxide layer that may form on the surface of the wire. It may be necessary to use a special flux or other pre-treatment to remove the oxide layer before attempting to solder.
3. High-temperature alloy: KA1 wire is designed to withstand high temperatures, which can make it difficult to solder using conventional soldering techniques. Specialized solders and fluxes may be needed to achieve a reliable bond with the wire.
4. Insufficient heat: KA1 wire can be difficult to heat up quickly due to its high thermal conductivity, which can make it difficult to achieve a good solder joint. You may need to use a higher wattage soldering iron or a heat gun to ensure that the wire is heated evenly and thoroughly.
